Answering God's Call to Share the Gospel

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. -Mark 16:15

This was the last commandment from Jesus to His disciples that was recorded in the book of Mark. What is the gospel? The gospel literally means good news. The Bible is a book that records God's efforts to reestablish a relationship with us. Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2) and we all have sinned (Romans 3:23). In response, God came to us as Jesus Christ (John 3:16). He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-7). This means that we have been saved from the penalty and power of sin and we are promised to one day be saved from the presence of sin. Those who are saved know that this is good news indeed. Sadly, not everyone has heard or believes this message which is why Jesus instructs us to share the good news we now know.
